At the close of another year, we pause to wish you a warm and happy holiday season. With the end of 2023 approaching, we reflect on our achievement of being recognized as a Top 10 Workplace by The San Diego Union‑Tribune. Employers earn Top Workplaces recognition if their aggregated employees’ feedback score exceeds national benchmarks in the employee survey. This is RECON’s third consecutive year earning a spot among the top workplaces in the small business category.

RECON President Rob Hobbs was awarded The San Diego Union-Tribune’s 2023 Leadership Award! “Morale is everything. Morale is what makes people want to work here. It is what makes people want to be part of this vision and what we’re trying to do. If I see somebody and know they’re stressed out, I’ll have a chat with them. The president’s door is always open. And we’ll work through the problem and then that boosts their morale. They don’t want to leave here. They know that they’re supported.”

In conformance with California Senate Bill 1383 to separate organic materials (food waste and green waste) from trash for recycling, the County has adopted several plans and initiatives to encourage best practices in waste diversion. These efforts are designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, use local resources efficiently, and reduce the need for new landfills. The County’s website provides additional information.
